We begin our journey from Lanzhou and travel through the grasslands of Amdo. We take the trail to Labrang and Repkong and follow one of the best trekking trails in Amdo- the Amnye Machen Kora. The sacred peak of Amnye Machen, snow covered and beautiful, is visible from the trail. This peak is venerated by both Buddhist and Bon followers. We take the overland journey on a comfortable four wheeler.
